Practice and Challenge Games

Hi,

Since we've completed our recent Geometry work on slicing 3D shapes, today is a good day to give you some choice over what to practice.  And what better way to practice than with some games!

Times Tables - Can be Multiplayer (Sundae Times)

Estimation Game - Various Levels (Ice Ice Maybe)

8th Grade Geometry Game (Transtar)

Slice Slice!

Next week we are going to be learning about how to SLICE 3D shapes, and knowing what the slice looks like BEFORE you cut it.  There are some WEIRD things that happen.
Like: Did you know that if you slice a cube you can create a hexagon?

Go to this link and play around with the buttons and sliders.  What interesting slices can you make?

Task 1: Go here. Email me at least 3 different slices.
      Instructions for taking a screenshot:
      How to screenshot:
1) hold down the ctrl + shift + window switch button
2) drag the selection rectangle over the area you want to screen shot
3) look above the lock in the bottom right, it will ask if you want to copy to clipboard.  click this
4) go to the email screen and press ctrl + V to paste

Task 2: When done with task 1, you can play this slicing game! (it's not 3D, but still relevant enough)
